December 1 - 9, 2022, Kazan (Russia) hosts the International Forum dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

The Forum is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the 1972 Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, one of the most effective and widely recognized international acts developed under the auspices of UNESCO.

For half a century, within the Convention, the World Heritage List has been formed - a list of the world's most outstanding cultural and natural attractions that are of universal value and require special protection.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly takes an active part in the International Forum in Kazan. A number of forum events are supported by the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.

December 6 - 8, the Industrial Heritage Conference will take place. The experts will discuss tools for the conservation and rehabilitation of monuments of industrial architecture and constructivism, this theme is of currently growing worldwide interest.

The speakers of the working sessions will be:

  • Shvidkovsky Dmitry Olegovich - Rector of the Moscow Architectural Institute, Academician
  • Stieglitz Margarita Sergeevna - President of the Scientific Committee on the Heritage of Industrial Architecture and Engineering, Doctor of Architecture, Professor of the Department of Art History and Cultural Studies of the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design;
  • Enrique Madia - Vice-President of the International Scientific Committee on the Legacy of the 20th Century (Argentina)
  • Jean Yasmin - international expert in archeology and architecture (Lebanese Republic)
  • Kiran Yoshi - Secretary General of the International Scientific Committee on the Legacy of the 20th Century (India)
  • Vinogradova Tatyana Pavlovna - Professor of the UNESCO Department of Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (NNGASU), Candidate of Technical Sciences

On December 4 – 9, the International Conference "The Great Silk Road" will be held.

The purpose of the conference is to strengthen ties between the coordinators of the Silk Roads Program network and develop joint approaches to the preservation of cultural and natural heritage sites.

The conference will be attended by Russian and international experts, domestic specialists in cultural heritage preservation and coordinators of the international network of the Silk Roads program from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Oman, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.

The presidium of the conference includes:

  • Belyaninov Andrey Yurievich - Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly
  • Nydal Katamine - Senator of the Parliament of Jordan
  • Ochirova Aleksandra Vasilievna – Co-Chair of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Professor, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador
  • Muhammad Osama Al Jaban - Rector of Damascus University

December 5 - 8, the International Conference "Problems of post-traumatic recovery of Palmyra" will take place.

It is dedicated to the unique heritage of Syria and will allow to learn about international experience in the revival of ancient monuments.

During the conference, leading experts will discuss the most effective ways and methods of restoring Palmyra and other World Heritage sites in the Syrian Arab Republic. Participation of experts from Russia, Syria, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia is planned for the conference.
