General Council Presidium of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly met on May 27

On May 27, 2021, an expanded meeting of the General Council Presidium of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly took place.

It was chaired by Andrei Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.

Members of the Presidium from India, Serbia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, France, Azerbaijan, Korea, Finland attended the meeting.

“Today is the birthday of our Assembly. Four years ago, the constituent assembly and the First Congress of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly were held. I sincerely congratulate all of you on this festive occasion. Each of you contributed to the creation of our organization and the approval of it as a social integration model of a Great Eurasian partnership.

Today, taking into account the realities of modern life, we have gathered in an online format. But this format both limits our opportunities for live communication, also gives new perspectives for prompt decision-making for the further development of the Assembly,” - said the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, opening the meeting.

The main issue on the agenda was the preparation of the General Assembly, which will take place on July 9, 2021 in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The General Assembly will sum up the organization's activities since its inception, approve a long-term plan for the next four years, and elect the governing bodies of the Assembly. All members of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly from more than 43 countries, both offline and online, will participate in the General Assembly.

The General Assembly will be held during the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Republic of Bashkortostan from July 3 to 10, 2021. The practice of such presentations of the Assembly has positively proved itself following the results of the successful holding of the Days of the Assembly in France, India, the United Arab Emirates, Serbia, Bulgaria, Mongolia, Azerbaijan. Traditionally, the program of the Days includes business meetings, discussion platforms in the following areas: business, culture, science, education, tourism, sports and youth.

The expanded meeting of the General Council Presidium of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly also approved a number of new projects, which will be implemented with the support of the organization. Among them are projects dedicated to the preservation of the historical memory of the Second World War, and others aimed at strengthening interethnic and interfaith harmony on the continent of Eurasia.

“The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly is actively being shaped as an international platform, affirming the ideology of peace, benevolent good-neighbourliness between different countries and peoples,” - Andrei Belyaninov emphasized.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly is an international non-governmental organization aimed at forming a social integration model in the name of establishing peace and harmony through the development of multilateral cooperation and public (people's) diplomacy in the Eurasian space. Currently, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly brings together representatives of more than 43 countries.

The General Council Presidium of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly includes, ex officio, the Secretary General, Deputy Secretaries General, Head of the General Secretariat, etc.

The General Council is the collegial executive body of the Assembly in the period between General Assemblies that implements the assigned tasks. General Council Presidium directs the activities of the organization between the annual meetings of the General Council.

In the past four years, Presidium meetings were held in a number of countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, France, India, UAE, Serbia, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan.
