Conscious Interdependence of Peoples - an Instrument of Peace and Rapprochement

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, represented by Svetlana Smirnova, First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat, took part in the IV Global Consultations “Formation of a Common Ethos: Towards an Era of Conscious Interdependence”.

The event, organized by the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO, took place on October 20-21 in Almaty (Kazakhstan) and brought together prominent scientists, researchers, philologists, representatives of international non-governmental and public organizations of Eurasia to discuss the issues of harmonious development of peoples and cultures, peaceful civilizational cooperation.

Director of the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures, Co-Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, People's Poet of Kazakhstan Olzhas Suleimenov is sure that in the third millennium the most important thing is to create, but not to destroy:

“The noble, dignified future of humanity is an era of conscious interdependence, when all peoples will feel like they are in a family. Big humanity is a big family. Awareness of the interdependence of peoples is extremely necessary for peace to exist on the Earth."

Svetlana Smirnova, speaking online at the plenary session, noted:

“The objectives of the IV Global Consultations on the Rapprochement of the Cultures of Eurasia are focused on strengthening the peaceful coexistence of peoples, intercultural dialogue, finding ways to overcome modern challenges. This is closely related to the mission of the Assembly for the development of Eurasia as a territory of peace, harmony and good neighborliness. For the fifth year now, we have been supporting and implementing projects that unite peoples on the basis of mutual trust, cooperation, and cultural mutual enrichment. Speaking for the preservation of spiritual traditions, ethnocultural identity, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly welcomes and supports the efforts of the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures."

Svetlana Smirnova also spoke at the First Section with a report “Education of Consciousness of the Third Millennium Human”.
