An Expanded General Council meeting of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly took place in Moscow. The meeting was held in a hybrid format and broadcasted on the Assembly's page on the Facebook social network.

The meeting participants summed up the results of the organization's activities for 2020, and outlined a work plan for the current 2021st. The General Secretary of the Assembly, Andrei Yuryevich Belyaninov, made an introductory speech.

“I would like us to discuss today what we have succeeded, what is worth working on, how we need to build relationships with our partners,” Andrei Belyaninov said before the event. “Together we will implement the most daring plans to form a large Eurasian partnership of peoples, while taking into account national and global interests.”

The list of Assembly’s partners continues to grow actively. Within the meeting, two agreements on cooperation were signed: with the University of Cadiz (Kingdom of Spain) and with the International Union of Charitable and Humanitarian Public Associations “Soviet Peace Fund”. The Fund was introduced by the President of the Union, one of the greatest chess players of our time, Anatoly Karpov.

Svetlana Smirnova, Head of the General Secretariat, briefly spoke about the results of the Assembly's work over the past year. She believes that the difficulties associated with the pandemic not only did not prevent the Assembly from developing, but also opened up new opportunities and prospects.

“Eurasia is huge. It comprises more than 100 countries - a huge territory, - said Svetlana Konstantinovna. - And, of course, along with live meetings, trips to different countries, we had to switch to the online format for a long time. Therefore, today we have acquired new tools of public diplomacy - online meetings, online conferences, what certainly expands our space.”

In this respect, the Assembly's International Megaproject “VICTORIOUS TOGETHER - for Peace and Creation” was indicative. It includes initiatives aimed at preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War and World War II. Most of the events and actions of the project took place on the Internet. For example, the Teleconference devoted to the 75th anniversary of the meeting on the Elbe. This format allowed more than 30 participants from different countries to speak. The event was live broadcasted in 40 countries of the world.

Major events, especially in the context of widespread digitalization, require serious information support. For more than 3 years, the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly’s peer-partner - the “Big Asia” media resource, has covered its events.

“I want to thank our main information partner “Big Asia” for promoting our Assembly, our projects, our programs, and thereby drawing attention to the Assembly, for promoting the main mission of shaping a human consciousness of the third millennium, which is based on spiritual and moral principles,” - said Svetlana Smirnova.

Alexander Lebedev, General Director of the TV channel and website “Big Asia”, spoke about the successes and prospects of joint activities. According to him, in the practice of Russian media there are no analogues of such cooperation, when an international non-governmental organization has access to an all-Russian media resource. Alexander Alekseevich proposed to create Media Council of the Assembly, which could include the heads of leading media that have taken a course to cover the development of integration processes in Eurasia.

“Each event, planned for the 21st year, supposes a huge amount of work, which should be known not only by the media community, a conductor, but also as many people as possible, - said Alexander Lebedev. - As the Head of the channel who has been working with the Assembly for a long time, I feel a bit offended that huge events, huge work aimed at positive, at consolidating people are behind the scenes. I want this work to be in the frame. It can and should be covered in the media. And today I suggested that against the political background of the Assembly and its development, we create a council, we create an environment that would be professional, that could deal with these issues at a high professional, organizational and political level. I offer a ready-made platform for this”.

During the meeting, the members of the Council identified the main areas of activity for 2021 and discussed the most important events for the International Organization. It was decided to hold the General Assembly of Eurasian Peoples' in the Republic of Bashkortostan in July 2021, and by 2025 Ufa will be ready to host the EURASIADA - the Eurasian Games in national sports.

“This is not only the Assembly, we have the support of the Ministry of Sports Bashkortostan, of the Head of the region. The Prime Minister became our colleague. This means that a lot of efforts are aimed at EURASIADA and, most importantly, we believe in the success of this event. - said Andrey Belyaninov. - Preparations are already underway, and we plan to hold Assembly Days in Bashkortostan in July and we plan to announce these games to be held in Bashkorostan . EURASIADA is games of goodwill”.

Other planned events include the Assembly Days in Vietnam, the opening of a Representative Office in Kyrgyzstan, as well as celebrating October 18 as the Day of Spiritual Accord. The Humanitarian Project EURASIA KIDS and the Youth Direction will definitely continue their work. The 4th year of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly has started, and it is only gaining momentum. Ahead lies the further development of the Assembly as an important instrument of public diplomacy and the search for new innovative solutions to strengthen mutual contacts in the interests of sustainable development of mankind.
