Andrey Belyaninov honored the memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War during the liberation of Crimea

Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrei Belyaninov, while on a working visit in the city of Sevastopol, laid flowers at the Monument to the soldiers of the 77th Red Banner Order of Suvorov of the Simferopol Rifle Division named after I. S. Ordzhonikidze and the Monument to Soviet Pilot, twice Hero of the Soviet Union Nelson Stepanyan.

A memorial complex dedicated to the 77th division was installed on Sapun Mountain in honor of the Azerbaijani heroes who took part in the liberation of Crimea and the storming of Sapun Mountain during the Great Patriotic War. In the spring and summer of 1943, the 77th Rifle Division received replenishment from Azerbaijan, consisting of 1,500 fighters and commanders. In May 1944, the division took part in fierce battles in the Sapun-Gora region and, along with other units of the Red Army, played a key role in the liberation of Crimea.

On June 22, 2021, the Day of Memory and Sorrow, the monument to Nelson Stepanyan was erected in the city of Sevastopol, on the street named after the hero. Nelson Stepanyan, a native of Armenia, was the commander of the 47th Assault Aviation Regiment of the Black Sea Fleet Air Force. The regiment under his command and with the personal participation of Major Stepanyan in military operations successfully supported the advancing forces of the army and navy during the Crimean strategic offensive operation.

The exploits of the sons and daughters of Azerbaijan and Armenia are inscribed in gold and blood in the history of the liberation of Crimea from the Nazis and personify the unity of all the peoples of the USSR in the face of a threat common to all mankind.
